Ireland: Industrial production plunges to lowest level in a year

In October, industrial production contracted a seasonally and working-day adjusted 7.5% over the same month last year, which greatly contrasted the 10.4% increase tallied in September. The reading marked the lowest growth since October 2012. According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the reading reflects a massive decrease in the “modern” sector, which includes chemicals, high-tech and pharmaceuticals.
